As you know Hazwoper Course, is OSHA’s substantial course for workers who work in hazardous site. There are different Hazwoper Course, and one can learn different things from each level. What one should expect to learn from each course is as follows:

(1)Awareness Level: In this level, one need to understand what hazardous substances are and the risks associated with them in case of such an incident. One also needs to understand the potential outcomes associated with an emergency created when hazardous substances are present. Along with that one also needs to understand and get the ability to recognize the potential presence of hazardous substances in case of an emergency.

(2)Hazardous Materials Technician: One need to know and implement the employer’s emergency response plan. With that one should get the identification and verification of known and unknown materials by using field survey instruments and equipment. One needs to function within an assigned role in the Incident Command System. Also one needs to know how to select and use proper specialized chemical personnel protective equipment provided by hazardous materials.

(3)Operations Level: One needs to have the basic knowledge of hazard and risk assessment techniques. Also to know how to select and use proper personal protective equipment provided by the first responder operational level. Taking this course would expect that you know how to perform basic control, contamination and confinement operations which are within the capabilities of the resources and personal protective equipment.

(4)Refresher Course: Hazwoper 8 Hour Refresher Training is designed to maintain the learned competencies. The refresher training course meets refresher requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 which is lead by instructor.
